On April 30th, 2021 rapper/producer/engineer Israel Unzueta, better known as REALXTY released “DMND Sessions.” A fully self-produced six song EP. The project itself is named after his own recording studio, DMND Studios, where Unzueta has been locked in during quarantine mastering his craft working not only on personal projects but those of his clients. After making music for nine plus years REALXTY brings us into his world, a world in which he has completely built himself.
The EP begins with, “Love My People,” A bright summertime beat laced with introspective and hopeful bars. He chants “everything’s all good” towards the end before a distant saxophone solo closes up the bright introduction. The project’s second track “Cash in Advance'' is a brash and forward song that finds REALXTY embracing a confidence in himself and his work that he wears proudly. “Home Sweet Home” follows up as a sweet serenade in which he lends support and assurance to a subject going through the day-to-day struggle of the everyday world. After a brief interlude that sets the scene, “DMND Freestyle” gets going with an a cappella verse that eventually finds the chill, laidback instrumental emerging underneath it. In this track REALXTY speaks to the long and winding road independent artists embark on when chasing their aspirations. He’s all about moving to his own pace in this, while assuring the listener his 10,000 hours plus have already been put in. To wrap everything up “Nook’s Cranny,” a previously released song, serves as a sleepy and relaxed outro put on the project as a bonus track.
